Proverbs 29:1

“He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.”

We should never stop learning and we should never stop excepting correction from those who are interested in seeing us succeed

Travis update:

Travis is doing a little better. He still in quite a bit of pain but they are able to manage it better. Those rehabilitation girls can’t wait to get their hands on him tomorrow. Next hurdle to get over is the pathology report that we should get back next week. Keep the prayers coming and thank God for what has been done so far.

117.

Proverbs 28:2

“For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged”

i wanted to give an update on my son this morning.

he made it though surgery ok  and is in icu  recovery.

116. . Things you will never be prepared for.

Proverbs 27:1

“Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth”

Today this one hit very close to home with me and my family. As most of you know my son will have surgery today to remove a mass on his spinal cord in his neck. I ask for continued thoughts and prayers. I think everyone of you so much from the overwhelming level of support. I have reached out to loved ones who I was mad at. To friends I haven’t spoken to in a while. There isn’t something I would wish on those who hate me.

I can honestly say that this has been quite a rough experience. If it wasn’t for prayer I don’t know how I could sleep at night. You hear people say all the time love like it is your last day on earth. I thank God I was given time to spend a few days before the surgery laughing and spending quality time. It was an answered prayer. I am positive moving forward but I wouldn’t be if it wasn’t for all of you.

May God bless you. I will update you as soon as possible.

115. Being Prepared

Proverbs 26:11

“As a dog returneth to his own vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly”

How often do you see people return to their own follies in their life? The definition of insanity is to do the exact same thing over and over and expect different results.

Once you start the self-reliant and modern survivalist life style it is very easy to fall right back into your old habits. Here are some of the things I am guilty of:

Not curving my impulse buying. I am getting better but it is a struggle.

Not running the generator every month for 30 minutes with a light load.

Not checking the water level in the batteries in my golf cart/battery bank every few weeks. I don’t use it very often.

Well I had better go I have to check my battery water levels

114. Pull the weeds from your life

Proverbs 25: 5

“Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.”

If you are old enough to be in control of your life, then this Proverb speaks to you. Currently, the media and corporations that own them seek to control you. They want you to be worried and torqued up about little petty things that really have no effect on your life. The love of material things has consumed much of the worlds people. We live in a society of instant gratification and always think we must have it now. When you get depressed you think well I should buy something that I want, and it will make me happier. We have been programed to do this. The One’S with money on their mind have figured out a long time ago that we are easily led.

Don’t be controlled by the things that do not matter. Remember always to ask yourself these things:

How does this problem or situation change my life?

Is there anything at all that I can do about it?

If you answer is NO to both questions, then don’t worry about it. It is just wickedness trying to make you feel bad so that you will spend some more money if you have it or you may even put it on your slavery card.

Remove this wickedness from your life. Concentrate on the important things like, making your life better. Now go pull some weeds in that garden you are growing.

113. Be ready, especially in your mind

Proverbs 24:3

“Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:”

We all have things in life that we need and want. Your basic needs are easily obtained currently. What if you were in a situation where this isn’t the case. Let’s think about Survival rule of 3’s:

You can survive 3 minutes without air

You can survive 3 hours without shelter in a harsh environment

You can survive 3 days without water if sheltered

You can survive 3 weeks without food if you have shelter and water

If your world falls apart could you supply the above with what you have around you? You may not be able to now, but you can learn how to and with a little preparing you can have items that can help you provide these in the event of an emergency. Remember knowledge is very light and requires no strength to carry. Work smart not hard.

Today stop fretting and do the following: Have an Emergency GO bag at your house. Have an emergency GO bag in your vehicles.

PS: I will admit when we took my son recently, to have a MRI that it would lead to a two-day hospital stay for more test. I at least did have a backup plan for picking up my daughter from school. Thank GOD for parents who live close by. I will use this to get my wife better prepared in the future. It won’t seem so doomsday irrelevant now. I know I know I should have been ready, but I failed. I learned my lesson hopefully.

112. Give it your all

Proverbs 23:12

“Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge”

If you’re not learning, then you are not living. Our brain is basically a computer. It is constantly taking in inputs from the outside world and processing them. It may be as simple as its cold and you need to put on more clothes. In life there are more difficult tasks that need to be completed for your benefit that take more time and inputs for you to fully learn it. When you fully learn something, it will become natural. That is why we have fire drills so that everyone can learn what to do in the event of a fire in that building and/or show those who don’t know what to do. Humans have an instinct that when you see someone running and they have a look of fear on their face we run with them and then find out what is going on later.

There may be task that you are wanting to learn that will benefit your life. Put your all into it so that you can fully learn it. Then you can lead others in learning it when the need arises.

111. Your mission is?

Proverbs 22:2

“The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all”

We are born in the same way and we all will die one day. From the earth we come and back to the earth we will go. From many text written over time they all mention that we go on from this place. We all have a soul that is here on this earth and it has a mission to accomplish. I believe our ultimate mission is to live a good life and affect others in a positive way.

Do you have something in your thoughts that is urging you to do something? It may be wisdom urging you todo it. It may not be for your benefit only it may be for the benefit of many.

110. Good words

Proverbs 21:23

“Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.”

Today’s Proverb carries a similar sentiment along with many other proverbs throughout the 31 chapters. Basically, we need to watch what we say to others. We cannot take back hurtful things that we let loose from our lips. In the past they were lucky enough that the common folk didn’t write to many things. They didn’t have social media accounts or the internet. If they said something, then it had to spread by mouth. They had the old saying to defend them, “Believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see. These days people don’t speak with their mouths as much, but wow do they write a lot and post on social media platforms for the whole world to see, along with a picture and their name right next to it. We should be careful when doing this. You will have to live with it for the rest of your life. Yes, you can delete the post, but has someone screen shot it in a quick instant when they saw it? Then it is there for the rest of eternity. After that the only way it would go away is if we hit an extreme TEOTWAWKI and every modern thing ceases to exist. How likely is that to happen? Not to likely.

Start today doing what is right with your words. Use them to encourage your fellow kind.

Side note: Concerning yesterday. My son has had some weakness in his right arm for some time now. We asked his pediatrician two years ago about it and he didn’t think too much about it. At the beginning of this year we asked some friends that are doctors and they said it should be checked out. We scheduled an appointment with a Pediatric Neurologist back and July and his appointment was, two weeks ago and they scheduled an MRI. The MRI was Wednesday, and they found a mass growing on his spinal cord in his neck. They did another MRI yesterday. This has been determined to be the cause of his weakness. The mass is slow growing and has most likely been there since birth. The reason they think this is, that he still functions like normal. If the mass was a recent development, he would have a lot more problems. His body has had time to compensate for the pressure it is producing. They don’t know what it is exactly. They must do surgery to find out what it is. They will do the surgery next week. This hit my wife and I like a ton of bricks. We ask that you continue to pray and keep your thoughts on my son. Pray for the surgeons and the team who will perform the surgery.

AMEN.
