145. Protect and correct

“It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.”

This is for those people who are in charge. You could even say this applies to parents who oversee getting their children up to an age where they can take care of themselves. When you are responsible for others you must act like it and always stay in a state of readiness to correct and protect them.

144. Let it loose and regret it.

Proverbs 30:32

“If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth”

We must be ever vigilant when it comes to holding in our passions and anger. We should always make it a priority to calmly address any situation or problem.  If we can do this then we need to walk away until we can.

There have been many a great person ruined by not thinking about what they say. Today if it is heard it spreads, Be very careful that your passion doesn’t ruin you.

143. Judge Fairly

Proverbs 29:14

“The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established forever.”

In the USA we have rulers that we elect to make sure we are ruled over how we choose to be ruled, governed by the Constitution. When you look out into society how often are people ruled fairly? I have often heard the following phrase: If you have enough money then you can get out of anything. Even murder. We have seen it in movies and some of us know it to be true in real life.

One thing is for sure if you judge then be prepared to be judged. If you don’t judge fairly then how can you expect to be judged fairly. When people are judge unfairly remember when the Omnipotent One said,

“Vengeance is Mine, and recompense; Their foot shall slip in due time; For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things to come hasten upon them.” Deuteronomy 32:35

142. Fools

Proverbs 26:1

“As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.”

How true is this proverb for today? Does anyone every expect to be honored for acting like a dummy?

Most would think that this is the case. How often do we honor fools today? Well there are a lot of fools in congress and the senate in Washington DC if you ask me. I could go on and on about the elect fools from the bottom to the top but I’ll leave it alone for now.

141. Boast not

Proverbs 25:6-7

“Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king and stand not in the place of great men: For better it is that it be said unto thee, Come up hither; than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince whom thine eyes have seen.”

We should not stand up and say look at me. Those that do will not be liked as much. Also, we shouldn’t just go along and hide from everything. We should do what we do and make sure people know that we do it but be humble about it.

I used to work on the drilling rigs in the recent past. Out there if you are not seen outside then you were never outside. For instance. The equipment you were in charge of breaks down. You are outside 23hrs a day and it broke down still. If the Drilling Site supervisor never saw you outside, then you were never outside. They would tell your manager that I don’t know what happened, but I never saw this guy outside. I make it a point to teach my students the following. When working on the rigs speak with the Drilling Site Supervisor every day when they are outside. Even if they don’t like you still say hello to them. That way you won’t get a bad name for being lazy.

140. Consider the flock you fly with.

Proverbs 24:1-2

“Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them. For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.”

In life will cross paths with people who we know are evil and it will seem that they have it all. Evil people get ahead by hurting others. The people, their family and friends of those who were hurt will seek out justice for the hurt ones. The evil people must always keep one eye open to be ready for the attack. If you are around the evil people when they are brought down, you will be brought down also. You will be given a bad name just like the evil one.

As the old saying goes, “Bird of a feather flock together”. If you are flocking with the evil one you will be known as evil.

138. Don’t be punished

Proverbs 22:3

“A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.”

Being self-reliant means that you should also do your best to be prepared. Like the evil mentioned in today’s proverb. This evil could be a major storm. When you have your stuff together you don’t have to run to the store to get the bread and milk and deal with the crazy unprepared people.

“Life’s Hand” that is currently dealt

For those of you who are close to me you know the situation with my son. We met with the oncologist on Wednesday and got the results of the pathology and treatment options. I know it is Friday and I apologize for not letting everyone know right away. I needed to think about it first.

The type of tumor he has is, benign, slow growing, and responds well to radiation. The radiation treatment in most cases will kill the tumor. The tumors have a low chance of growing back after the treatment cycle. This all sounds good, well no, not for my son because of his age.

Radiation treatment is a great option for an adult. Radiation kills bone, or stops it from growing. For a 5 year old it will change them physically and very well deform them. If you kill the neck bones they wont grow anymore. His neck could be severely crooked and short.

Chemotherapy is what was recommended by the Tumor board at the hospital. Chemo will most likely keep the tumor from progressing any further until he is at an age where he can take radiation to get rid of the tumor.

I ask if you are the praying or thoughts type of person then please keep my son in you thoughts and prayers.

There is no doubt in my mind that, we made it over the most difficult and immediate threat because of you sacrificing your time to pray and spread the news of the needed prayer. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
