137 Seek the truth

Proverbs 19:5

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.

If you have ever read the Good Book, then you will know that the Most High does not like a liar and in fact in some passages it states that a liar is hated. In the world today, people make it a habit of spreading lies unintentionally. We see things that we agree with and think well it must be true. Especially true if it is what I want to hear. In this sinful world that we live in we just can’t seem to adopt the saying; “believe nothing you hear, and only half of what you see”—Edgar Allen Poe.

Can you imagine a world where everyone could do this? How nice would that be? Can you imagine if we heard or saw something that we would all think logically and investigate it? Maybe we have been programed in today’s world, to believe what we hear with reinforcement of visual proof in the so called MSM. As you have seen movies and wanted to believe them though you know they aren’t really. Well the media can get you to believe things that are not true, but you wish they were.

Write this down and put it somewhere you frequent, “I will not believe anything until I seek the truth”.

136. Be resourceful

Proverbs 18:9

He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.

When you set out to do something you should try to do it as best as you can. You never know when you are selling yourself. Now there is a difference between working smart and being slothful. Working smart is using our brain to make things easier so we can get more done with the resources we have. Like using a shovel vs our hands. You can dig a garden with your hand’s but they will become hurt in very little time. Using a shovel will protect your hands from getting cut by roots and rocks.

In life it is very human to find better smarter easier ways to do things. Don’t be lazy be resourceful.

135 Money vs Happiness

Proverbs 17:1

Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.

Sometimes money can buy you happiness, but it may come with a lot of stress and strife. The more you have the more you must worry about. Don’t waste all of your youth on preparing for getting old. The day you retire only one hospital stay can take all that you have saved. There has also been people die right before they retired. Now you must do something while you are young to survive and thrive. You must also spend time doing things you enjoy.

134. Is it right only to you?

Proverbs 16:2

“All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.

We shouldn’t do things that we have to convince ourselves are the right thing. If you keep telling yourself this is what I should do, then you will believe yourself. Some go as far as asking people if they should do it until they find someone that says yes. When someone gives you advice you may want to look at them and see how they are doing in their lives that pertains to your question. Like for me I can tell you exactly how to cause and get a divorce. I have been married 3 times. Still married and have been going on 10 years. I have learned that if you want to stay married you must bite your tongue and do somethings that you normally would rather not do every once and awhile.

Don’t be a an askhole. An askhole is someone who ask for advice and does the exact opposite.

133. Distribute what you have learned

Proverbs 15:2

The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

We should do our best every day to listen and learn. God gave us two ears and one mouth. This is so we can listen twice as much as we speak. The is a time to speak. When you know something that could help someone you should tell them especially if they ask. Be honest and help them to overcome what they need help with. When you pass on knowledge you get to pass on some of yourself to others.

The physical human will one day die. It is your mental legacy that you can pass on far greater than to just those who are born to you. If you know something that is useful then distribute that knowledge.

132. Shut up and Listen

Proverbs 14:6

A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.

Scorners are usually too busy scorning others to listen. Wisdom is all around us everywhere we go. Wisdom was there in the beginning with the Alpha & Omega when the earth was created. The problem most people have is that the wont open their mind and shut up long enough to listen to it. Wisdom is in your genetics from many mothers that came before you. You are here because they were wise enough to survive.

Everyday go to a quiet place and listen. Just shut up and listen.

131 Keep your mind open

Proverbs 13:1

“A wise son heareth his father’s instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke”

It seems that some people never learn. They keep making the same mistakes over and over. You will find people like this as you travel your road of life. If there is anything to learn from them it is not what to do.

When people tell you, “hey you are doing it wrong or that will not work”, listen to them. Ask them, “why won’t it work”? they may save you a lot of time, frustration, and hurt. I know it’s hard to take criticism. You must try hard to accept it and learn from it. The most foolish thing you can do is to close your mind.

130. Health & wellbeing

Proverbs 12:7

“The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.”

There is a right way of living and there is a bad way. If you choose the bad way and try to make your way by deception or being plain mean there will always be someone after you.

If you choose the right way you must always be careful, so you are not deceived. If you exepct something you must be prepared to inspect it. If someone is being fair with you they should let you inspect. Key phrases that should alert you are: Do you think I am bad? Why don’t you trust me? And so on.

When you do things the right way there will be very few that are after you. You will sleep better at night. You will have less emotional stress. I believe good quality sleep and low emotional stress are the keys to being healthy and longevity.

If that voice in your head is saying, “is this what you are doing really right”, then it probably isn’t.

129. Strength

Proverbs 11:2

When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

You may think that this proverb is telling you to appear weak if you are wise. On the contrary. It shows great strength to be lowly in this sense. You have the strength to accept knowledge and correction. You learn from your mistakes and other’s mistakes. You don’t run your mouth and make trouble for you and your family.

Show some strength and think. Show some strength and learn. Become mighty from carrying all the knowledge you can because knowledge weighs nothing.
