178. Accept your cup.

Proverbs 17:3

“The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.”

Have you ever reached to top and almost pull yourself out of what you are going through and you find yourself slipping back a little? It may be that you are not finished with what it is that needs to be done. It may mean that you are not quite ready for the next step. There is still more learning to do.

Remember the Alpha & Omega will not attach more than you can pull, to your yoke. You are specifically chosen to bear what you are going through. Bear it with pride. We are soldiers in this life and we must do what we got to do, to make it through it. I guarantee that there are others who are depending on you to make it through it. Don’t let them down.

When the weight gets to be too much remember you were chosen to do this. Remember that what you do and you being where you are matters. Pray for strength. Pray for the situation to end quickly.

177. Work on you and not y’all

Proverbs 14:2

“He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.”

We all have a metaphoric cross to bear in this life and not one person has the same exact cross to bear. So, how can you tell others how to live. I believe that as long as it doesn’t hurt you or your future then it is not for you to worry about.

Maybe you have something bothering you in your life. You know what it is. Go now and start to fix it. You will find that if you work on you then you will not have time to worry about other things.

176 How to bring Hell on Earth

Proverbs 13:5

A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.

Exodus 20:15 You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

It is said that while the Communist ruled the Soviet Union that they would reward people who told on their neighbors. If they told on a neighbor in an apartment next to them they would get their apartment. Their neighbor would get sent off to die in the reeducation camps in Siberia called the Gulag’s.

According to a 1993 study of archival Soviet data, a total of 1,053,829 people died in the Gulag (not including labor colonies) from 1934 to 1953 (there was no archival data for the period 1919–1934).

People would often make up stories to get their neighbors apartments for more room. How hideous a person must become too damn their neighbor to death. Even children and parents would do it to each other. That situation was hell.

175. Ask GOD to walk with you

Proverbs 12:2:

A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

Genesis 5:22-24 After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. 24 Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.

Enoch walked with GOD and was faithful to GOD. Then GOD took Enoch away and Enoch didn’t have to endure the hardship of death. What if we included GOD in all of our walks of life? God is all knowing and is there anyways. What if we kept that in the back of our minds always, “The Omnipotent One is watching me”. Well GOD is watching you.

Knowing that GOD is watching you will you treat others as you want them to treat you. Will you yell at the person who cuts you off in traffic knowing GOD is right there beside you? I might cause I call myself bad names when I am by myself and do stupid things. I should stop doing that I reckon.

Whether you like it or not you are one of GODs children. How would you like it if someone was mean and hateful to one of your children? Also, be nice to yourself because you are one of GODs children

174 Don’t be Judged

Proverbs 11:1

“A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.”

Some people call it karma but if you constantly try to screw people or judge them unfairly you will get yours.

Matthew 7:1-3 tells us:

“Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?”

Remember get your own stuff straight before you suggest to others how to straighten theirs.

173. Stay off the wrong path

Proverbs 10:6

“Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.”

There may be times when you are doing what is right and you feel you are getting behind. This is not the case. You may be going in a different direction than what your life’s purpose is. It is up to you to determine your purpose in life.

Do not give in and do what is wrong to get ahead. Do you really want to sleep with both eyes open? Do you want to think that they are going to get me back all the rest of your days?

172. The best is to do right.

Proverbs 7:1

“My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.”

If we could have, would have, and should have. How we all would like to go back and right wrongs or do things over if we could. Well guess what you can’t. What you went through is you now. You must learn from your past. Become better. Help others to not make the mistakes you have. If we could have genuinely read the book of Proverbs long ago and applied, it to our lives then we would be rich by the time we were 25.

All we can do every day is to do what we know is right. Start today and think before your actions. Ask yourself: Is it right or wrong. Then do what is right.

171. You Matter

Proverbs 6:4

“Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.”

If you feel that you have ever wronged somebody you need to try to make it right. This may not be possible, but you do need to try. You will always be forgiven by the “Most High”. The Omnipotent one knows we are humans and knows we are without evil. It is known by the more intelligent humans that we all have the ability to do evil. Humans sometimes hold other humans to god like status. This is through ignorance. Also because of this ignorance they may not forgive.

Try to right your wrongs. If you can remember you do have a purpose in this life besides the wrong, you may have done long ago. If you ask for forgiveness from the “Alpha & Omega”. Then you are forgiven. You matter in this life besides what has happened. There are people who depend on you. You may not know it but your daily actions, your daily routine. The wave you give in a passing car. The smile you give the elderly person at the store may advert disaster for them.

170. Pull the weeds of death

Proverbs 5:1-4

“My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:

That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.

For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:

But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.”

Today’s words of wisdom from the past tells us that we should always eat the fruit of the wisdom that we have planted and that was planted in us in the past. The grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence. The fence that is in between us may be preventing our death.

So when you are cultivating your garden pull the weeds so that what you have planted can flourish. Also pull the weeds from your life so that the wisdom that has been planted can flourish.

169. Planting the seeds of wisdom

Proverbs 4:5

“Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth”

As we grow and learn wisdom should become prominent in our lives. At a young age society in general starts to teach us that if we do certain things they will have consequences. It is the ultimate goal of the parents to start the seed of wisdom into a child’s head so that it grows and flourishes.  How do we teach them? I would have to say mainly from our actions.

It is our job as a parent to teach our children that how their life turns out is up to them. We must teach them that even though there will be valleys there will also be mountains that we stand upon.
