254. Be flexible

Proverbs 16:1

“We humans make plans, but the lord has the final word.

There is an old saying I like to tell people when the moment suits it, “If you want to hear GOD laugh then tell him your plans.”

Proverbs 16:1 can remind us that life isn’t always going to go the way we want it. It will how ever go the way it needs to go so we can be ready when the need arises.

253. Your time and your prayer

Proverbs 15:8

“The lord is disgusted by gifts from the wicked, but it makes him happy when his people pray”

Matthew 18:19 tells us, “I promise that when any two of you on earth agree about something you are praying for, my Father in heaven will do it for you.”

For those who have been with me know about the situation of my Son and the mass that is in his neck on his spinal cord. Last year when he went in for surgery my family was scared to death. I asked everyone that I knew to pray for my son. One thing my Christian faith has taught me is that prayer works. There is no doubt in my mind that that is what helped my son and help my family to deal with it.

Give a little of you time today and pray for other people.

252. Advice from Christ (Expect Vilification)

Matthew 5:11-12

“God will bless you when people insult you, mistreat you, and tell all kinds of evil lies about you because of me. Be happy and excited! You will have a great reward in heaven. People did these same things to the prophets who lived long ago.”

When you accept Christ and start living your life to love one another life will not be easy every day, but it can be. If we keep in mind, we are doing what we are supposed to be doing it should help us along.

Remember always love others as you love yourself. GOD’s temple is our body. You just have to accept GOD and allow GOD to live there.

Ponder this while you are resting this weekend: Why is it so normal to Stand and Pledge your allegiance to a flag and you feel abnormal to pray in public?

251. Your Guide

Proverbs 11:3

“If you do the right thing, honesty will be your guide. But if you are crooked, you will be trapped by you own dishonesty.”

Ah sweet sweet honesty. So hard to speak sometime and so easy to defend. If we would just stick to being honest we would have less friends and the few we keep would be stronger than the some of what you had before.

250. The harvest never ends

Proverbs 10:5

“At harvest season it is good to work hard, but stupid to sleep.

It is always harvest season. You must get the grow ready to grow so you can harvest, you must plant so you can harvest. You must weed the garden, so you can harvest. You must water so you can harvest. You must bring in the harvest. You must preserve the harvest. You must get ready for the harvest.

Get out and do. If you don’t do. Then there will be no harvest.

249. You are “absolutely” welcome

Proverbs 9:3-4

“She has sent her servant women to announce her invitation from the highest hills: Everyone who is ignorant or foolish is invited! All of you are welcome to my meat and wine.”

Wisdom cries out to us all the time. Even them who do bad things have wisdom crying out to them. Some people are spiritually blind and deaf and cannot see the writing on the wall or hear the noise that wisdom makes.

When times get tough keep in mind that there is a better way out. We just need to keep our hearts at peace so that we can hear it. Remember what absolutely means: “with no qualification, restriction, or limitation; totally”. You are welcome to the benefits of wisdom no matter who you are, you just have to shut up and listen.

248. Wisdom at the gate.

Proverbs 8:3-4

“She stands by the city gate where everyone enters the city, and she shouts: I am calling out to each one of you.”

The gate to the kingdom of heaven is small and only a few will enter. Isn’t is sad that Wisdom is begging us to listen so that we can one day enter the kingdom when our earthly duties are finished.

Take more time and listen more and speak less. Listen to wisdom and let her be your guide. Remember don’t listen to emotions and always let time tell if it is what needs to be done at the right time.

247. Advice from Christ (Prayer)

Suggested Reading Matthew 6:5-15

Jesus tells us that we shouldn’t be show offs many times. We shouldn’t show off when we do good for others we shouldn’t show off when we give money. Here He is saying that we shouldn’t show off when praying.

Todays suggested reading say that we should go into to a private place and pray alone. We should keep our prayer short and a matter of fact Jesus gives us the prayer we should pray. I think another reason GOD wants us to be alone and keep our prayers short is so we can listen to what GOD says instead of only what we, have to say.

246. Teach them kids to live

Proverbs 4:3-4

“When I was still very young and my mother’s favorite child, my father said to me: If you follow my teachings and keep them in mind you will live.”

I wonder how many parents tell their kids something different these days?  O do whatever makes you happy. Go to school and become something, whatever you want.

We should be teaching our kids to live. If you learn how to live with what we need then happiness will fall into place.

245. Conditioning

Proverbs 3:12

“The Lord corrects everyone he loves, just as a parent corrects their favorite child.”

When you go thru hard times we are being prepared to help others in their time of need. When going through your hard time seek help and it will be provided. When people offer help it is because they want to help you especially when done in private.
