281. We are teachers and advisors

Proverbs 23:13-14

“Don’t fail to correct your children. You won’t kill them by being firm, and it may even save their lives”

We should do our best to make sure our children are ready to survive in a world without us. It is our job as a parent to train them to for forth and produce good fruit. During training of any kind mistakes will be made and we will need correction for those mistakes. Boundaries need to be set and if they are crossed then consequences will have to be dealt with.

We love our children. When we are teaching them, we need to take the role of parent and teacher. When they are grown and living on their own we are there trusted friend and advisors.

  1. Advisor would be a blessing. For various reasons, my children consider me to be irrelevant to their lives. They have chosen a much more secular path than mine, and don’t want to be advised.

    1. I will keep them in my prayers. I know I shyed away from my father when I was Young. It was if I was being told constantly how wrong I was. Sometimes you have to let them go and pray that God will protect them.
