189. Listen

Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

As we start the new year make it a point to be a little quieter. Make it a point to listen to the silence with a keener ear. You just may hear a little more.

184 Reconciliation Day

Proverbs 25:2

It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

I just want to say MERRY CHRISTMAS and Happy New Year to all of you.

This will be my last post of the year. I will start again on January 2, 2019 just after the holidays.

I will post the daily proverb. I will interact on Facebook if you do. Spend time with those you care about.

If you are mad at someone then forgive them. Yes if you are mad then you care for them.

183. Reconciliation Eve

Proverbs 24:12

If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

Tomorrow we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. He is the Son of GOD who was sent here to die for the sins of humans. This was done so that humans and GOD are now reconciled if you so choose to believe.

Sleep well knowing that you are forgiven for your trespasses in this life. Remember that as you are forgiven that you should forgive also

182. If it needs doing then do it.

Proverbs 21:5

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of everyone that is hasty only to want.

I heard a saying this morning on the Living Free in Tennessee podcast this morning that made me think of today’s proverb. “Do what you can now so that you don’t have to do it when you are old.” If something needs to be done, we need to make time to do it. Do wait for the perfect time. The perfect time will not ever come.

I have been thinking about drilling a water well by hand. I do need a backup water supply. I have the water filters for clean water. I am relying on city water currently. My back up plan is to use rain water and surface water from my pond. In the summer we can go weeks to months without significant rainfall. There have been times that it has been so dry that when we get a 3-inch rain event that the puddles dry up in hours and the water level in my pond doesn’t increase any. The water in the pond would stop up a filter in a few minutes.

So, I decided that I would drill my water well this winter when things are cooler. I started this weekend on the well. My son got sick the day I decided to start this. With his current condition we have to be ready to go to the ER if his fever gets to a point. So, we got ready and it was hovering just below the amount. I’d go out and work on the well it would go up. I’d come inside and be ready to go it would go down. Well something was telling me now is not the time for the well to be drilled. So, I stopped the heavy work and just prepped some things for next week when I am on Vacation.

So, in close I’d like to say. If it needs to be done do something. Getting a little bit done is better than nothing.

181. Keep the peace

Proverbs 20:3

It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.

If we humans would ever fully rise to the highest levels of our being’s strife would not be an issue. It is almost like the time on this earth is for some to learn things the hard way. It sure seems this way.

Be wise do what you can to keep the peace of the existence around you.

180. When you feel it help out.

Proverbs 19:7

All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.

We have all heard this one before when your down no one is around. I believe that there are lonely times in life that are necessary to help us grow as a being. When I use the term to grow I don’t mean to get larger it is to get better. GOD may put someone in your life at this time that needs to help you.

As we near the Day of Reconciliation listen for a need. When you see a need and feel inclined, then help where you can. There are times I pass pan handlers on the street and GOD says help them and I do. The next day I pass them by and I hear and feel nothing, so I don’t help them. It is a recurring theme, when comes to wisdom, to get quiet and listen.
