132. Shut up and Listen

Proverbs 14:6

A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.

Scorners are usually too busy scorning others to listen. Wisdom is all around us everywhere we go. Wisdom was there in the beginning with the Alpha & Omega when the earth was created. The problem most people have is that the wont open their mind and shut up long enough to listen to it. Wisdom is in your genetics from many mothers that came before you. You are here because they were wise enough to survive.

Everyday go to a quiet place and listen. Just shut up and listen.

131 Keep your mind open

Proverbs 13:1

“A wise son heareth his father’s instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke”

It seems that some people never learn. They keep making the same mistakes over and over. You will find people like this as you travel your road of life. If there is anything to learn from them it is not what to do.

When people tell you, “hey you are doing it wrong or that will not work”, listen to them. Ask them, “why won’t it work”? they may save you a lot of time, frustration, and hurt. I know it’s hard to take criticism. You must try hard to accept it and learn from it. The most foolish thing you can do is to close your mind.

130. Health & wellbeing

Proverbs 12:7

“The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.”

There is a right way of living and there is a bad way. If you choose the bad way and try to make your way by deception or being plain mean there will always be someone after you.

If you choose the right way you must always be careful, so you are not deceived. If you exepct something you must be prepared to inspect it. If someone is being fair with you they should let you inspect. Key phrases that should alert you are: Do you think I am bad? Why don’t you trust me? And so on.

When you do things the right way there will be very few that are after you. You will sleep better at night. You will have less emotional stress. I believe good quality sleep and low emotional stress are the keys to being healthy and longevity.

If that voice in your head is saying, “is this what you are doing really right”, then it probably isn’t.

129. Strength

Proverbs 11:2

When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

You may think that this proverb is telling you to appear weak if you are wise. On the contrary. It shows great strength to be lowly in this sense. You have the strength to accept knowledge and correction. You learn from your mistakes and other’s mistakes. You don’t run your mouth and make trouble for you and your family.

Show some strength and think. Show some strength and learn. Become mighty from carrying all the knowledge you can because knowledge weighs nothing.

128. Live in delight

Proverbs 10:2

“Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.”

Just remember if you get it by being wrong, then you will not get to keep it for very long. If you screw someone to get what you want, then that person is always going to look for a way to get you back and you have to live with that may be forever. Even generations will hand down distaste for individuals or families.

Do what is right. Sleep better at night. Listen to your conscious and live in delight.

127. Be a wise one

Proverbs 9:9

“Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.”

I often think about this proverb when I hear an expert making statements or teaching others. You always hear the one fool speaking incorrectly and making a jackass of themselves. If you hear something you don’t agree with don’t automatically say the other person is incorrect. It is better to be silent and then do some research than to blurt out incorrect information and look foolish.

126. Knowledge vs. Silver and Gold

Proverbs 8:10

“Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.”

Instruction and knowledge are the most precious things on earth and beyond. Why is knowledge so much better than silver or gold?

Knowledge weighs nothing.

All you must do is learn it and use it and it’s there in your head. No one can take it from you without ending your life. Knowledge can be passed on also.

Knowledge can protect you.

You can learn how to make a shelter out of very little. You learn to carry an EDC which a small shelter can be carried. You learn defense moves. You learn to carry a weapon and learn how to use it. You can learn how to make a weapon out of almost anything.

Knowledge can give you clean water to drink.

You learn how to carry small filtering devices with you everywhere in your EDC. You learn how to make a filter out of trash materials. You learn how to make a solar still out of scrap materials.

Knowledge can feed you

You learn to carry emergency food rations in your EDC. You learn how to hunt and fish. You learn how to preserve and store food for hard times. You learn how to grow a garden and provide food for yourself and family.

125. Learn from your mistakes

Proverbs 7:2

“Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye”

You are supposed to gain understanding and wisdom as you get older. If you turn on the news at any time what you will see is not the case. You get to see some people at their absolute worse. I find it strange how people enjoy seeing people suffer.

If you don’t want to become one of those televised people you must employ the good things that you have learned. You shouldn’t do the bad things that you have seen hurt people. A lot of times if you stay busy you will stay out of trouble and live a long life.

The lessons in life make us who we are. We are either insane because we do it over and over again expecting different results. Or we learn from our past and make our future much better.

124. If you slip throttle back

Proverbs 6:9

“How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?”

It can be so hard sometimes to get started. I know what this means. It seems as though everything is lining up against you. Even the weather will not cooperate. Proverbs 6:9 tells us to get up and get moving. Get started working on the future that you want. If you are waiting on perfection it won’t ever come. If it looks like it has then something else will stand in the way very shortly.

I used to work in a rail yard and we would run the big engines to move the rail cars around. When first attempting to move the cars and you give the engine to much power your wheels will slip and you will not go anywhere. You have to increase power in small increments. After the momentum is gain you can give more power until you are up to the speed you want.

In life you may start and try to go to fast and slip and fall. Go slowly and increase persistence in small increments. When you slip throttle back a little and let your life catch up.

123. Trading your life for $0.00

Proverbs 5:10

“Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;”

In these days that we live in this proverb is very evident in most people’s life especially in the developed world. How many think, that they are really free? Most people do. They have been programed by the controllers for many years now. We work hard and get what we think we deserve out of it. Then the Gooberment says I need my part since you made income. Have you really made income? If I trade, you a dollar for a dollar is that income?  If I go to your house and mow 100square feet of your yard and then you come to my house and do the same for me has any one made income? If you trade part of your life for money, is that income? I don’t think trading your life for an agreed amount of money is income. It is an equal trade.

This is income in my book:

You buy a 50lbs sack of flour for $100

You sell the flour for $3.00 a pound.

50 X 3 = 150 you made $50 revenue. You then take out maybe $10 for expenses. Your left with $40. Now this is income.

So, in life the Gooberment is stealing part of our lives from us and using it for things that usually don’t benefit us. I understand road and bridge taxes we get a maintained road out of it. What do we get from the Gooberment that steals our life from us?

I know I know you may say I am a fool for thinking this way. But who is to say that you are not the fool for being fooled all of this time.
